The Board of Government Advisors (CRa) is offering a work-experience position for a talented Ukrainian architect, urban planner or landscape designer, based in the Netherlands (junior)

The Board of Government Advisors (CRa)

Are you an enthusiastic, communicative, and pro-active junior architect, urban planner or landscape designer from Ukraine, who is currently looking to gain working experience in the Netherlands? Do you have an interest in sustainability, circularity and social issues in relation to the built environment? Then we are looking for you.

We are the Board of Government Advisors (CRa), an independent advisory board on spatial planning for the Dutch central government. Our work deals with the urgent topics of today; from the energy transition to biobased construction and from sustainable mobility to new cultural landscapes and the just city. Our team consists of around 40 people that use design thinking to develop and promote an integrated and innovative approach towards contemporary social and spatial challenges within national projects and policies. We believe that spatial designers can help to create a joint perspective and bring the desired future closer. The combination of looking far into the future and learning from the past allows us to find out what we need to do now. And above all: what we must not do.

We offer a work-experience position for the period of 6 months, during which you will be introduced to spatial planning in the Netherlands, while working on concrete projects. In addition, you will be contributing to the organisation and coordination of the involvement by the CRa in the UNUN network, which allows you to link the insights gained within our team to thinking about the reconstruction of Ukraine. We ask you to have a curious and proactive attitude. You are someone with a broad social interest, good English communication skills and political sensitivity.

What we are looking for:

Junior architect, urban planner or landscape designer (1-5 year of working experience), currently staying in the Netherlands

Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) and Sketch-Up

Proficient in written and spoken English and Ukrainian.

What we offer:

A work experience position for 4 days a week, for the period of 6 months.

Being part of an open and welcoming team, consisting of architects, landscape designers, heritage- and art experts, sociologists, and urban planners

The opportunity to contribute to projects on various scales and with different actors

CAO working conditions and a workspace in The Hague

The opportunity to spend part of your working time on attending, organising and coordinating activities related to the UNUN network.

If you are interested send us an email with a brief motivation, your resume and/or portfolio and we will be in touch! Apply before the 1st of December, 2022.
