Symposium: 'Ukraine’s housing recovery forum' - rebuilding a place to call home
Bezuidenhoutseweg 30, The HagueSharing knowledge for action
The invasion of Ukraine has caused considerable loss of life, damage to homes, and the erosion of livelihoods. Being able to return home is not only an aspiration for many, but essential to Ukraine’s social and economic recovery. Tangible efforts to rebuild homes and neighbourhoods offer hope to the millions of Ukrainians now displaced across Europe.
For these reasons, the rebuilding of homes and neighbourhoods require urgent attention and appropriate knowledge, technical assistance, together with adequate long-term investment. Therefore, a symposium is organised in The Hague. If you'd like to join, sign up below.

VYSHYVANKA WORKSHOP
Independent School for the City, Delftsestraat 33 RotterdamIn their series of craftivism workshops, the Independent School for the City will now be looking into the centuries old but very now tradition of Vyshyvanka, the famous embroidery technique from Ukraine. Apart from telling stories and being connected to different regions, a Vyshyvanka is believed to be a talisman, bringing luck and protection to the person wearing the garment. The embroiderers have presently shifted to ‘embroidering’ camouflage nets to protect Ukrainian soldiers. During the Vyshyvanka workshop, which is led by Bogdana Postrygan, participants will design a message using the Vyshyvanka language to make a collective ‘embroidered’ camouflage net.
The School offers 3 spots for free participation by Ukrainian applicants. To qualify please send an email to info[@]schoolforthecity.nl
